Scripture answers both questions in two verses. Genesis 1:27, you were made in the image of God. First John 4:16, God is love. Put them together and the answer has been there all along: you were made in the image of Love, to love.
Not to perform. Not to earn. Not to manage a list of rules and hope it is enough.
To love.
Meaningless Without Love walks through 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 one quality of love at a time, asking what each one requires of us. Then it asks the harder question: what does it look like to actually live it, in the people around you, in your life with God, in the places where you have been hurt most. Start loving the way God defines it.
